Inducing Labor Naturally with Acupuncture

A 34-year-old pregnant woman, who was well passed her due date, came into the center because she was not experiencing the contractions needed for labor. In that visit, she explained that she experienced similar contraction problems when she had given birth 3 years prior; in that case she had to refer to Western medication to induce labor. It was at that time that she realized she wanted to give birth naturally. Within the first 10 minutes of receiving acupuncture treatment, she started feeling mild contractions.  After electric stimulation on certain acupuncture points, she was able to deliver a healthy baby boy the very next day.
